Roger Berkowitz will discuss one of the most controversial and profound thinkers of our time. Arendt coined the phrase, "The Banality of Evil," in the 1940's to describe the Nazi troops and let to a gross misinterpretation of her ideas.
Berkowitz will place Arend't ideas in the context of her time and explain just what made her ideas so widely misinterpretated, and why it is ever more crucial ro reexamine the depth and insight of her ideas today.
