Congratulations to the Winners of the Academic Initiative on Hate and the Human Condition Essay Contest!

In the fall semester of 2014, Bard College, as well as its affiliates Bard College Berlin, Al-Quds University, and AUCA, participated in the Academic Initiative on Hate and the Human Condition launched by the Hannah Arendt Center for Politics and Humanities, together with Bard’s Center for Civic Engagement and the Human Rights Project. Courses that explored and reflected on the problem of hate were offered at all four institutions.

The final papers written by the students in these classes were eligible for a contest. Faculty from all four participating institutions evaluated these submissions and selected a total of five winners: one at each institution (one of whom is the overall winner), as well as a runner up for the overall winner.

We are now delighted to publish the winning papers of this contest on our blog.
