Hannah Arendt and Reading for Change
11-05-2015Connel Fanning, an HAC member and regular participant in our virtual reading group, recently shared this image from his Reading for Change Book Club featuring Hannah Arendt's Eichmann in Jerusalem:
Here is what Connell had to say about his image:
"As the first Programme of the recently launched Keynes Centre at University College Cork, we started off our Reading for Change Book Club last month with twenty five people participating in two groups and with Hannah Arendt’s Eichmann in Jerusalem as the first reading. Had we not closed it off, we could have had many more as the interest was so high. Previously, we ran ‘An Evening with Hannah Arendt’ in both Cork and Dublin, for which we watched Margarethe von Trotta's 'Hannah Arendt' film and then facilitated a post-screening discussion in which over 60 people participated. These events were targeted to the business community, so there is clearly a great interest in Arendt in Ireland."
